Frequently Asked Questions about Permanent Jewellery

What Is Permanent Jewellery

Welcome to our exclusive permanent jewellery service in Adelaide, South Australia. Our dedicated studio offers a unique experience where you can create your own custom-fit, dainty 14k gold filled, sterling silver and solid gold chain jewellery.

All permanent jewellery are welded on by Eileen herself who is a professional silversmith with years of knowledge and experience in jewellery making and using welding technique- which is imperative in ensuring safety during the process and the quality of products.

Permanent jewellery - also frequently known as Infinity Jewellery, Eternal Jewellery, Soldered or Welded on Jewellery - not only adds a touch of elegance to your look but also offers long-lasting value. With proper care, these pieces retain their beauty and brilliance, becoming treasured keepsakes.

At our studio, we employ spot welding techniques to securely attach the chain, giving the impression of jewellery that is "permanently" on your body.

They guarantee a seamless finish, with no need for clasps and will stay in place on all occasions- even swimming or working out. The use of high-quality, tarnish-resistant materials ensures that your jewellery can be worn continuously without losing its beauty.

Please be aware that while our dainty chains are designed for durability but are not indestructible. Although rare, there is a possibility that your chain may come apart. In such instances, we offer *free repairs/ reweld within the first 7 days after your appointment.

Why choose us?

All permanent jewellery are welded on by Eileen herself who is a professional silversmith with years of knowledge and experience in jewellery making, using welding technique; as well as a large network or trusted suppliers. With the growing demand for Permanent Jewellery, it is important to consider your options to ensure you not only have a safe experience, but also quality product and sound and accurate information.

Where is your studio located?

Our private studio is in Croydon Park, (Adelaide) South Australia. Exact studio location will be provided in your confirmation email/ message.

We frequently do pop-ups so keep an eye on our Instagram for announcements or check out our Events Page. When available- pop-up locations will be added as an option during your booking.

What are your chains made of?

The chains we use for our permanent jewellery are made with high quality 14K gold filled, solid sterling silver and solid gold (contact us to check availability or for pre-order custom sourcing). They are hypoallergenic and nickel free. Our chains are tarnish-resistant and can last for years with proper care and love.

What is Gold Filled?

Gold filled metal is a solid layer of real gold bonded to a base metal such as brass. It has a requirement of minimum 2 microns of heavy real gold- almost 100x more gold than gold plated jewellery- but without the price tag of solid gold. With proper care, it does not wear or tarnish easily and is ideal for every day wear.

How long do my welded-on bracelet, anklet and/or necklace last?

With proper care, the chain can last for as long as you want. Please be aware that while our dainty chains are designed for durability, they are not indestructible. Although rare, there is a possibility that your chain may come apart. In such instances, we offer *free repair for the first 7 days after your appointment.

Changes in body chemistry and wear can cause 14k gold filled or sterling silver to tarnish over time.

How do I remove my permanent jewellery?

Should you ever need to remove your permanent jewellery, simply cut the chain at the jump ring, which holds it together, and keep it safe. During your next appointment, we will be delighted to *re-zap and restore your piece to its original glory. See terms and conditions.

What if the chain breaks or stretches?

Repairs due to stretching/ pulling are not covered under our warranty. Depending on the condition of your chain, some may not be able to repair. Those that are able to can however be repaired, tightened and/ or re-welded back.

Book an appointment and we will be delighted to *re-zap and restore your forever bracelet or any of your eternal jewellery to its original glory.

We recommend touching base with a picture of your chain that requires a repair or reweld prior to booking. Should it not be repairable, your deposit will be forfeited in lieu of time.

Do I need to remove my Infinity Jewellery at airport security?

There is no need to remove your permanent jewellery at airport security. If for any reason you need to remove your soldered bracelet or eternal jewellery, we recommend cutting it through the jump ring, or book an appointment to get it removed.

Do I have to remove my welded-on jewellery for medical MRI, X-rays and operations?

Please consult your doctor for advice. Chains removed can always be re-welded back on.

Can I add charm(s) after my permanent jewellery have been welded on?

Absolutely. You can purchase charm(s) at any time. A re-welding fee of $20 apply to have the chain removed and charm(s) added. Booking is required.

Do you offer Permanent Jewellery to kids/ babies? I see other businesses doing so.

We are a fully insured jewellery business and have the legal obligations to not weld Permanent Jewellery on kids/ babies below 12 (age 12 to 16 require parental consent) due to a large number of safety concerns. Morally, we also do not feel that it is right to weld on kids/ babies who are still developing; and may not be able to follow through all after care instructions.

How do I care for my permanent jewellery?

Yes, you can certainly wear them in water; and yes you can also use your standard skincare products while wearing our permanent jewellery.

For the longevity of your friendship jewellery, we do recommend avoiding harsh chemicals such as cleaning products and alcohol based perfumes. Wash them with a soft brush and warm soapy water; and polish your friendship bracelet, anklet and necklace to keep them shiny.

It is important to wash your jewellery with warm soapy water after swimming in chlorinated pool, ocean or after excessive sweating.

I need to cancel my appointment - Do I get my deposit back?

You can reschedule or cancel your appointment up to 24 hours before your scheduled time. Failure to do so or non-attendance on the day will result in the loss of your $50 deposit. Please note that deposits are non-refundable. They can however be put towards a new service and/or online products.
